The following guidelines apply to Youth/Minors in Labs (Non-Hazardous labs, classroom/computer settings):

Faculty and staff involved in the lab activities with the minor must complete the child abuse and molestation awareness training every 2 years and annual background check.
Complete the Background Check | Training Request for Youth Programs form to submit request for training and background checks.
Obtain written consent from the parents or guardians In advance, establish a monthly/weekly schedule for the students to follow.
Provide notification and schedule of their visits to security staff for the building about the youth/minors being in the building, if the building has assigned security staff.
Provide lab safety overview/training to the youth/minors as appropriate for the type of setting.
Review emergency procedures with youth/minors during their first visit.
